This month, we’ve got an important update on Kitsap Transit’s Bremerton Fast Ferry route, which has been operating seven fewer round-trip sailings per day since Sept. 1. Plus: our fall service change, free Olympic College bus passes, ferry crew kudos, and Labor Day transit tips.

Starting Sept. 1, all Olympic College students, faculty and staff can ride Kitsap Transit buses and local ferries for free with the OC Bus Pass!

All Olympic College students will be able to ride Kitsap Transit buses and local ferries with a free bus pass during the 2026-27 academic year thanks to a $200,000 grant from the state.

Starting June 7, Kitsap Transit will make changes to Routes 222 and 238 and pilot a new route in downtown Bainbridge Island.

Starting Dec. 7, Kitsap Transit will make changes to Routes 93, 105, 184, 185, 186, 212, 215, 217, 331, 332, 333 and 390.

Changes include new trips, adjustments to timepoints to improve connections, and adding or removing stops. Additionally, Kingston Ride will continue to operate on Saturdays after the Kingston Fast Ferry switches to its winter schedule.

Kitsap Transit will receive $2.9 million from the state to continue extra passenger-only ferry service on the Bremerton-Seattle route through the end of August 2026. Kitsap Transit’s Bremerton Fast Ferry will operate the extra sailings on weekdays, but not on Saturdays from October through April.
