Welcome back to Headways! This month, we’ve got an important update on Kitsap Transit’s Bremerton Fast Ferry route, which has been operating seven fewer round-trip sailings per day since Sept. 1. Our fall service change adds more frequent bus service in South Kitsap and Bremerton, much of which serves Olympic College’s Bremerton campus. If you haven’t heard of OC’s free bus pass program, we’ve got details about that, too!

Temporary state-funded Bremerton Fast Ferry sailings ended on Sept. 1

In December 2022, Kitsap Transit added seven round-trip sailings per day on its Bremerton Fast Ferry route to help offset service cut by Washington State Ferries (WSF) during the COVID-19 pandemic. On Sept. 1, we stopped operating those additional sailings after state funding for them ended.

Kitsap Transit’s fall service change starts Sept. 13. We’re adding new stops and increasing frequency on certain routes – like every 15 minutes on Route 108 – and adding a new SK Ride Express route with direct service to the Port Orchard Ferry Dock.
