How Kitsap Transit’s VanLink program is helping homeless veterans

Earlier this year, Kitsap Transit’s VanLink program provided the Port Orchard Transitional Housing Program with a new 10-person van to help transport veterans to their appointments.

Many of the program’s homeless veterans face addiction or mental health issues while they work toward permanent housing. The impact of the new vehicle is significant: it means veterans can rely on consistent, reliable transportation to these critical appointments.

Winter service change effective Dec. 7

Kitsap Transit’s winter service change went into effect on Sunday, December 7.

We made changes to several routes, including new trips, timepoint adjustments to improve connections, and stop additions and removals. We also stopped operating alternate routes on Bainbridge Island when Washington State Ferries’ sailings are running late and added a new route connecting the new West Bremerton Park & Ride to downtown.
