Spring service change begins March 3

UPDATE: Kitsap Transit announced on February 27, 2024, that it is pausing the expansion of Sunday Bus Service. Please see this blog post for details. Our regular service change will still go into effect on March 4.

Our spring service change begins Monday, March 4.

For this service change, we are making several small timepoint changes on Central and North Kitsap routes to improve connections with other routes and better align with ferry arrivals and departures.

We’re also excited to introduce Sunday bus service in Port Orchard, Silverdale and Poulsbo next month. Sunday service in those areas will begin a week after this service change, on Sunday, March 10. Read our blog post for details.

We’re still hiring bus operators! The more drivers we hire, the more quickly we can resume pre-pandemic service levels. Our drivers receive paid training and CDL certification; excellent benefits including health, dental and vision insurance; a pension in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and generous paid leave. New operators can also earn up to a $7,000 signing bonus.

March 4 Service Change

  • Route 85–Mullenix Express

    • The 6:13 AM trip from the Mullenix Park & Ride is being shifted three minutes earlier to provide passengers more time to connect with Washington State Ferries (WSF).

  • Routes 93, 94, 95, 99 and 106

    • Several timepoints are being changed on each route to improve AM connections with WSF and reflect actual PM travel times. See your individual route page for details.

    • Route 99 will now travel two route patterns instead of three. All PM Route 99 trips will follow the AM route pattern but will not travel Fort Ward Hills Road. Route 99 will no longer operate “on request” trips to Rockaway Beach Drive, except for the 7:15 PM ferry-take-home trip.

    • Removed the 5:22 PM trip from BTC. This trip aligned with a Washington State Ferries (WSF) sailing that has been suspended.

    • Added one AM trip and one PM trip departing BTC at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM on Saturdays.
