Spring service change begins March 6

Route 215 travels along Washington Avenue on Feb. 14, 2023.

Our Spring Service Change begins Monday, March 6.

With this change, we’re making a few minor adjustments to several routes. You can see those changes below.

In a bit of related news, we recently presented our Sunday service proposal to the Kitsap Transit Board of Commissioners. This is our plan for restoring bus service on Sundays, which was cut in 2009 during the Great Recession. Our goal is to start up Sunday service this fall, using a phased approach. You can read the full plan here.

To make a long story short: we need more bus operators to return to pre-pandemic service levels and add Sunday service. Our drivers receive paid training and CDL certification; excellent benefits including health, dental and vision insurance; a pension in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) and generous paid leave. New operators can also earn up to a $7,000 signing bonus.
