Summer service change: South Kitsap bus route numbers will change starting June 8

Starting on June 8, Kitsap Transit will renumber all South Kitsap bus routes. Route 5 will become Route 105.

Kitsap Transit’s summer service change begins on Sunday, June 8.

We will be making changes to Routes 4, 5, 8, 9, 81, 85, 86, 184, 212, 215, 217, 219, 302, 307, 332, 390, 391, BI Ride, and Purdy Ride. Changes include adjustments to timepoints to improve timing, new timepoints, or route pattern changes.

We’re renumbering all South Kitsap routes: Routes 4, 5, 8, 9, 81, 85, and 86 will become Routes 104, 105, 108, 109, 181, 185 and 186.

Route 81 will be split into two routes: Route 181–Annapolis and Route 119–Madrona.

  • Route 181 will operate its regular loop serving the Annapolis Ferry Dock, Port Orchard Armory Park & Ride, and Olney Avenue.

  • Route 119 will operate three one-way trips in the AM traveling to the Annapolis Ferry Dock, and three one-way trips in the PM departing the Annapolis Ferry Dock.

  • Route 119 will only serve Mile Hill Drive, the Armory Park & Ride and Olney Avenue on AM trips traveling to the Annapolis Ferry Dock. On PM trips departing the Annapolis Ferry Dock, Route 119 will travel Bay Street and Mitchell Avenue.

  • Route 119 is a fixed-route and will not operate ferry-take-home service.

  • Starting on June 8, Route 81 will be split into two routes: Route 181–Annapolis and Route 119–Madrona.

  • Starting on June 8, Route 86–Southworth will change to Route 186–Southworth. One PM trip is being added, departing the Port Orchard Ferry Dock at 2:30 PM. Several timepoints on Route 186 are being adjusted.

  • Route 119 is a new route. It will operate three one-way trips in the AM traveling to the Annapolis Ferry Dock, and three one-way trips in the PM departing the Annapolis Ferry Dock. The bus will only serve Mile Hill Drive, the Armory Park & Ride and Olney Avenue on AM trips traveling to the Annapolis Ferry Dock. On PM trips departing the Annapolis Ferry Dock, Route 119 will travel Bay Street and Mitchell Avenue.

  • Starting on June 8, several trips will be added on Route 184–Harper Shuttle, departing the Southworth Ferry Parking Lot at 4:14 PM, 4:40 PM and 5:43 PM. Several timepoints are also being adjusted.

  • Starting on June 8, one Saturday PM trip will be added on Route 212–Bremerton/Silverdale West, departing the Silverdale Transit Center at 7:00 PM.

  • Starting on June 8, one PM trip will be added on Route 215–McWilliams, departing the Bremerton Transportation Center (BTC) at 2:35 PM. The 4:32 PM departure from BTC will now depart at 4:30 PM.

  • Starting on June 8, one stop will be added for Route 219–Crossroads at McWilliams Road and Highway 303. The 3:40 PM trip departing Charleston Gate will depart five minutes later at 3:45 PM.

  • Starting on June 8, one PM trip will be added on Route 332–Poulsbo/Ridgetop, departing the Silverdale Transit Center at 9:05 PM.

  • Starting on June 8, one AM trip will be added on Route 390–Poulsbo/Bainbridge, departing the North Viking Transit Center at 4:00 AM.

  • Starting on June 8, one Route 391–Kingston/Bainbridge trip departing the Kingston Ferry Terminal at 3:45 PM will be removed due to issues with arriving at the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal (BITC) on time. Passengers needing connections to BITC can use Routes 302 and 307.

  • Starting June 8, BI Ride will add one timepoint (where passengers can catch the bus or get dropped off without booking an on-demand trip) at the Kitsap Regional Library. Several timepoints are being shifted by a few minutes.
