Text for arrivals: How to get the next bus arrival time at your stop

Kitsap Transit is installing new Stop ID signs along several routes. Riders can text the Stop ID to a phone number to receive the next three bus arrivals.

Kitsap Transit riders may have noticed some new signage at our bus stops on a few routes across our system over the last few weeks. These new signs are part of a pilot program for our text-for-next-arrival software, which allows bus riders to text or call to receive an estimated arrival time for the next few buses at their stop.

Text the stop ID number on the sign to (360) 800-3433, and you’ll receive a message with the next three arrival times for that stop. The same method works by phone: After calling the phone number, press 1 and enter your stop number to get arrival times.

For example:

For particularly busy stops, like a transit center, you can filter by which route you’re riding. Add a hyphen and the route number after the Stop ID. For example, if you want to see the next three Route 224 arrivals at the Bremerton Transportation Center (Stop number 1), you’d text “1-224” to (360) 800-3433.

So far, we’ve installed several hundred signs at stops and transit centers along Routes 212, 220, 221, 224, 226, and 391. Not every stop or shelter along these routes has a sign, but many do! If you’re at a stop without a sign, you can find your stop ID by visiting KTTracker.com and selecting your stop on the map.

We’re looking for feedback on sign legibility, understandability, and ease of use. You can let us know what you think here.
