What is Lifeline?
The Lifeline Program is a federal program that helps make phone and internet services more affordable for low-income individuals and families. It provides a monthly discount on phone or broadband bills, and in some cases, participants can receive a free or low-cost phone through participating providers.
To qualify, people typically must meet certain income requirements or be enrolled in assistance programs like Medicaid or SNAP. The goal of Lifeline is to ensure everyone has access to essential communication services for things like jobs, healthcare, and staying connected with others.
